Technical Issues & Station Reporting
On this page, you’ll find information about technical issues affecting Pumpkin FM, and you can report any stations that are offline or experiencing dead air (playing without any sound).
I’ve introduced a dedicated reporting system that connects directly to my WhatsApp, allowing me to be notified when a problem is reported. If an issue has already been reported, the system will let you know, so there’s no need to submit it again.
A little patience goes a long way
Pumpkin FM relies on a number of different servers and services to keep everything running, including our playout systems, streaming servers and website. From time to time, technical problems can occur, and occasionally these are outside my immediate control.
I’m always grateful to listeners who take the time to let me know when something isn’t working as it should. Your help really does make a difference. Unfortunately, on rare occasions, I also receive messages that are unkind or abusive when problems arise. I understand how frustrating it can be when you tune in and find that your favourite station isn’t working, but I hope you’ll understand that these things can sometimes take time to resolve.
Pumpkin FM isn’t run by a large team of staff monitoring everything around the clock. It’s just me, doing my best to keep it all running.
Alongside running Pumpkin FM, I also work at a dairy farm. My working day starts very early, so I generally go to bed at around 16:00 GMT and get up at midnight. I check the network when I wake up, but problems can arise while I’m asleep or at work, when I’m not always in a position to investigate or fix them immediately.
I’ll always do my best to resolve issues as soon as I reasonably can. Some problems can be fixed straight away, while others require assistance from data centres, web hosting companies or other service providers, and that can mean waiting for them to respond.
How you can help
Please feel free to use the reporting form on this page whenever you encounter a station that is offline or playing dead air. If someone has already reported the problem, the system will let you know.
Every report is appreciated, and I will investigate and address problems as soon as I’m able. In the meantime, I kindly ask for a little patience and understanding. Pumpkin FM is a labour of love, and keeping it running is a one-person operation.
