Twixt some programs songs and music is played. The choice is very good and not only brings back many memories but has me hunting for more. I forget how much good music there is. If there was a channel of this music I would listen to it. Thank you.

Hi Carlos

We have UK Retro 4050 playing the best music of the 40s and 50s and a classical music station, Radio Malvern International. Nothing more planned at the moment! Thanks for listening πŸ™‚ John

Hi,

I am new to Pumpkin radio and loving the Strange channel.

Now the clocks have changed in the UK will the schedules reflect this, because everything is 1 hour ahead, and I keep getting the time wrong.

George

Hi George, the times should always remain the same as the schedules and the server are set to GMT / UTC. All program times are in Greenwich Mean Time. In the UK at the moment it is BST (British Summer Time) so it is GMT +1. At the top of each schedule is a GMT clock which you might find helpful. Kind regards John

Sorry these TV Comedy soundtracks just don’t work for me. You need to have remembered the original to know what is actually happening (as it is rarely explained in audio). Even the lack of credits to know who was taking part is annoying too - please drop them as it makes me switch away.
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
Hi Peter, thank you for your comments. The TV Audio is mainly on BritCom 2 with a few on BritCom 1. We have quite a large audience for them. I understand some of your points regarding if you had not seen the original. But, we have 8 great channels, maybe it's time to change the station if you don't like a particular show or check the schedules to avoid shows you dislike. Regards John

Hi all the great folks at Pumpkin FM I'm a really big fan of the work you do and by way of thanks I just made a small donation. I hope enough people also chip in so you can keep going. When I was a child my dad made me a crystal set tuned to the BBC Home service with big headphones and I went to sleep most night with them in place. Many of the shows you play on comedy are those I listened to back then and today I can hear the same programs to help me get to sleep in 2019.

One small suggestion, There was a station that played "Just a Minute" 24/7 but when all the issues about Clement Freud were made public it suddenly disappeared. I can understand why they may have chosen this action but there were many episodes where he was not on the panel any chance of you looking at running these?

Cheers from Oz David

Hi David, thanks for your message. I have more than 200 episodes of Just a Minute, I think there are quite a few where Clement Freud is guesting on the panel. I am not heavily into censorship. I did naturally remove content that featured Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris for instance. Glad you enjoy the shows. Happy listening!

Please check the schedules for the days and time of the Just a Minute shows. They are on both Britcom 1 & 2

I really love these radio stations, but it is impossible now that even the Crime Central schedule is no longer correct. Are updates in the offing. πŸ™‚
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
Hi Trip! The channel has been rebranded as Crime Incorporated, I have updated the schedule with the new playlist. Hope you have found it πŸ™‚

Loving the shows and channels, but when I try to reach the home page by typing in the address, it goes to the 'default web page' by plesk, instead of the page. I know you're making changes, but thought you ought to be aware of this.
I listen at work, and it's great to hear the old shows and music.
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
Hi Harriet, maybe this was during the time I was migrating the site. It should be fine now. If not, please clear your browsing history and try again. Let me know how you get on. Regards John

What's the little piece of jazz music you use as a station ident? Sounds like Miles Davis but I can't quite put my finger on it. Thanks.

Hi John
What channel would that be on?

Pumpkin FM, runs on two servers, Abbott & Costello. Unfortunately two days ago Costello gave up on life, the fan failed and the processor fried itself. I have since managed to rebuild the channels that were hosted on Costello on a Virtual Windows server in the Cloud.

I have had to close down for a short while all channels that are located on Abbott so I may upload 500GB worth of content to the new cloud server.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Hope to back up fully by the end of today..

We apologies for issues with Pumpkin FM Server 2. This has impacted 1940s, 50's, Classical Radio, British Radio and the Adventure & Western Channel. The problem should now have been fixed. The server was overheating which led to the issues. We have added extra cooling fans. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Enjoy all of the comedy channel the continuity announce who must have the
most annoying stupidly affected voices that I've heard on radio for years !
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
Hi Bill, the continuity announcer is a computer generated voice or text to speech πŸ™‚ When I get time I plan to introduce real human voices, the emphasis is on when I get time πŸ™‚

Why does the woman that does the station promo piece on '1940's 1950's radio always say that it's 'MONDAY' ??
No matter what day it is, she says it's 'monday'. Stupid and annoying.
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
I don't think she says Monday at all, please let me know when this is said and I will check! Thanks

The British Comedy channel seems to be stuck; it’s only playing a brief β€œDo You Remember This?” drop/cue and then 20-30 seconds of silence - sometimes rebooting the stream, sometimes not.
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
Hi, we had to reboot the server yesterday and this should have fixed the issue. Sorry for any inconvenience! John

Love the network, listen just about every night.
Have you any idea when the schedule for the Sci-Fi and Horror station will be up?

Thanks
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
Hi Trip, I will get around to it eventually, not to much time on my hands at the moment as I am working away. I will let you know when I have scheduled that particular station. Seasons Greetings. John

Really enjoy the Comedy channel - by why the hourly time pips? Totally misleading due to encoding delays they only work on FM, so serve no useful purpose being up to 40 seconds out!
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
I don't expect people to set their watches by the pips, especially with the network lag. But many people who listen do like to be aware when the top of the hour arrives, some people use it as an indication of when they should leave or start work and it has a retro feeling all of it's own πŸ™‚

It's all programs, all the time, all the other channels work fine
Admin Reply by: pumpkinfm
Hi Ted

It was a rogue encoder. I have re-installed it and seems fine now. Regards John
