Nicholas sees it all as something of an adventure, and soon becomes fast friends with the new gardener, José (Sir Dirk Bogarde).

At the club meeting, the men decide to take a trip to Majorca. The women threaten to withhold all their services if they do not take them, so off they all go.

Through a misunderstanding, Eddie spends the duration of the trip in jail.

While smuggling aristocrats out of France, Andrew and Richard are pursued by Chauvelin's agents. Andrew is shot and wounded, and Richard is forced to leave him behind. Sir Percy must return to France to find Andrew and get him out of the country, a task complicated by the fact that Percy doesn't know where Andrew is and Chauvelin has his agents out looking for Andrew, too.

Ollie has fallen in love with the innkeeper's daughter in Paris. The only problem - she's very much in love with her husband. To forget her he joins the Foreign Legion with Stan. Bad idea.

Storyline:
Oliver is heartbroken when he finds that Georgette, the inkeeper's daughter he's fallen in love with, is already married to dashing Foreign Legion officer Francois. To forget her, he joins the Legion, taking Stanley with him. Their bumbling eventually gets them charged with desertion and sentenced to a firing squad.
