Gentle Trap

A 1960 Butchers production about safe cracker Johnny Ryan (Spencer Teakle) who after robbing a jewellers, is himself robbed by a rival gang headed by Ricky Barnes(Martin Benson). Barnes has also pinched Ryan's girlfriend and she in turn has set Ryan up.

However, Ricky's dumb henchmen miss the diamonds on Ryan. With this £60,000 booty, he acquires some refuge at a nightclub in the company of two sisters; the kindly Jean (Felicity Young) and deceitful Mary (Dorinda Stevens).

Barry Cryer hosts the long-running show, giving a showcase to established comic talent. Nominally a quiz, but in reality just a joke-fest!

⁣Private eyes Jeff Randall and Marty Hopkirk are gathering information to allow Fay Sorrensen to divorce her cheating husband but he murders her and makes it look like a heart attack. Marty is suspicious but is killed by a hit-and-run driver before he can prove that Sorrensen is a murderer. His white-suited ghost gets Jeff to meet him at his grave in the cemetery and they expose the murderer between them. However, Marty has been out of his grave beyond the dawn and must wander the Earth as a ghost for the next century, though only Jeff can see him.

⁣Dean is joined by Frank Sinatra and their respective families for the Christmas show. Dean and Frank do a medley of standards. Frank Jr and Dino perform "How Do You Talk to Your Dad." Tina and Deana sing "Do-Re-Mi."

There's talk of an uprising amongst the slaves, Lurcio's thrown into the dungeon after being caught holding incriminating pamphlets, and repeated rescue attempts make things a little cramped.

⁣Dr. Simon Sparrow's (Sir Dirk Bogarde) love life improves dramatically when lovely Delia Mallory (Samantha Eggar) is brought into casualty with a sprained ankle. As a model she's relieved at the diagnosis, and she's as attracted to Sparrow as he is to her.


Meanwhile, Sparrow finds himself treating Sir Lancelot Spratt (James Robertson Justice), who has started sleep-walking. He has also suddenly lost his gruff manner, and is being nice to everyone. Sparrow quickly diagnoses Spratt's condition: he's fallen in love. The object of his affection is Physiotherapist Iris Merchant (Barbara Murray). Sparrow urges him on, but she has another suitor: Major Tommy Ffrench (Donald Houston). Spratt tries to hire a private detective to follow her, but when that doesn't work out, he follows her himself.

The morning after the fire and basic training is complete. The boys are due in front of the Selection Officer to determine their future trade. Mrs. Marsh is similarly insistent that the Cpl. assesses his own career.

Through a series of bizarre coincidences, a man finds himself falsely accused of bank robbery and murder and is pursued by the authorities and the real killers.

The wartime daily routine on a British bomber base in southeastern England is revealed through the eyes of newly arrived Flying Officer Peter Penrose.

⁣Christmas Holiday is a 1944 American film noir crime film directed by Robert Siodmak and starring Deanna Durbin and Gene Kelly. Based on the 1939 novel of the same name by W. Somerset Maugham, the film is about a woman who marries a Southern aristocrat who inherited his family's streak of violence and instability and soon drags the woman into a life of misery. After he is arrested, the woman runs away from her husband's family, changes her name, and finds work as a singer in a New Orleans dive. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Musical Score for Hans J. Salter.

A medical student is broke and murders his professor for money. The investigating officer knows that Larry is the culprit but does not arrest him. He tries to allow Larry to confess his crime.
