Kind hearted to a fault, a soft touch, always ready to give a helping hand, being a good neighbour gets him into lots of scrapes, but that's fine with him.

A WWII pilot (Milland) with vital information for the allies is shot down in Nazi occupied France.
A young nun (Britton) sacrifices to help him escape. For all its underground intrigue, Nazi brutality and Machiavellian Gestapo methods, the film is a different sort of war romance. For one thing, its heroine is a novitiate nun and Ray Milland is an almost too happily married albeit dashing American aviator, forced down in occupied France.

Based on the old radio series of the same name, we see the lives of several people attending a popular radio show, including a young couple who meet and fall in love at the show. Great musical acts including Nat King Cole and Spike Jones, but ZaSu Pitts almost steals the show!
The Big Lift is a true account of the Berlin Airlift, which provided food and supplies to the Western sector of Berlin during the Soviet's blockade of Berlin. Sgt. Danny MacCullough (Montgomery Clift) and his friend Sgt. Hank Kowalski (Paul Douglas) are among the Americans called upon to risk their lives to transport supplies to the desperate citizens. The grim war is soon left behind as budding romances emerge between two women and the soldiers. COUPLE #1: Ida Taylor, who ran away from a cornfield as a young girl / Charles McLaughlin, a vaguely self-described "entrepeneur"
COUPLE #2: Oney Boren, wife of an oil man / John Granger, whose beard gets in the soup
Ida Taylor is a real hoot, especially during the quiz segment. There's a fantastically funny outtake of her in the "stag reel" for this season (originally released by Shout Factory as a bonus on one of their two great YBYL DVD sets from a decade ago). It starts 5:57 into this video if the link doesn't start where it's supposed to (just make sure you play it to the end-- it's Ida's last line that's the real killer!):

After Klink finds Sergeant Schultz drunk he gets a tough new replacement.
Highlight of this show is clearly Groucho's encounter with Albert Hall (couple #3), a very funny exchange where Groucho looks genuinely thrown by the odd man with the crazy eyes.
While Groucho always had jokes to fall back on prepared in advance by staff writers, he never actually *met* the contestants until the show. Seeing him startled like this is always a high point when it happens. He spends most of the segment here pretending, hilariously, to be scared for his life.
